Direct Educational Activities

In addition to its Educational grant programs, CLF has initiated and/or is engaged in several direct educational activities. Here’s a quick overview of some of CLF’s recent and ongoing efforts:

Assessment: CLF funded a comprehensive study of literacy assessments analyzing 30 commonly used assessments, including detailed rubrics on the literacy domains and technical adequacy of each. The study authors also provided recommendations on which assessments are the most useful, based upon the findings in the rubrics.

Parental Literacy: CLF is compiling a literacy resource round-up to share with schools, communities, and libraries, which features literacy Web site links, research, activities, and publications currently available for parents.
