"Small Grants That Make a BIG Difference"

Funded Programs:

CLF mini-grants provide support to a broad range of innovative programs and projects in upstate New York.

St. Catherine's Center for Children: Purchased reading programs for both the Residential Program and R&E May School Day Treatment. These reading programs are appropriate for the children that St Catherine’s serves, including those that have been abused, neglected, homeless and/or mentally ill.

CareerLinks, Inc: Awarded grant for a group facilitator/supervisor with an M.S.W. and experience working with the inner-city youth population. The workshop that this individual will lead helps CareerLinks, Inc. to achieve their mission of helping their participants to obtain a more meaningful vision of career/life possibilities and to create access to opportunities that last.

Food Pantries for the Capital District: Purchased three small TV/DVD sets for pantry guests to view videos on preparation of food given out by the Food Pantry.

Hoosic Valley Elementary School: Purchased multiple copies of non-fiction texts with science and social studies themes.

Lansingburgh Boys & Girls Club: Purchased a meat slicer to offer fresh sliced meat and prepare food in a safe, sanitary environment.

Mechanicville Elementary School: Purchased videos and books to enhance teaching of the school’s character traits program

YMCA: Purchased literacy supply kits for four children’s centers located in Schenectady.
